The Sundowners 4x4 Club meets the second Thursday of each month at the Oakwood Community Center, 3320 Laird Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI, at 7:00 p.m. For more information, contact Marie Dunning.

June 10 th, 2010 Meeting
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Abe Dunning. There were 16 members present and two visitors.
NEW BUSINESS
Larry Thorpe, who was a member for years, passed away in May.
The Sundowners 35 th Anniversary will be in 2011. The club is going to come up with a special sticker to celebrate.
We received our check from 4 Wheel Drive Hardware for $68.32.
The ORV sticker price is going to be raised to $30.50. This price has not been raised since 1996.
Jeff Putnik has been asked to compete in the Ultimate Adventure. Good luck Jeff.
Wayne, Michael and Mark are going to check into new locations for our Toys for Tots event.
We are also checking into new locations for our Christmas Party for 2010. If you know of any clubhouses, barns, etc., please let Marie know.

T-shirts, sweatshirts or coats with the Sundowners logo on them, please contact Ginny Cross @ 269-343-4494. Ginny always donates to our events and does great work.
We have 4” & 6” outside stickers, dash plaques and license plates for sale for your vehicles.
Don’t forget to order from 4 Wheel Hardware. The club gets a 3% rebate check yearly from your purchases. They also donate to our rodeo every year.
The club also gets a discount through Lane Automotive.
GREAT LAKES 4WD ASSOCATION
The next United Convention is coming to Michigan. It will be the week of June 14 th, 2010 and will be in Traverse City. Log unto the United website for more information.
If you are interested in joining Great Lakes 4WD Association, your membership is only $20.00 a year. This is only for paid Sundowners members.
TRAILMASTER REPORT
May 28 th – 31 st Mencks, Dunnings, O’Connors and Greg Wischmeyer went to Dead Stream for Memorial Day weekend. They wheeled on Saturday and just plain “chilled out”. The screen room helped tons with the bugs. Marv Farley stopped up for a visit on Saturday night.
John Ramos went to Bundy Hill during Memorial Day weekend and met up with John Pike and Jeff Putnik.
Four rigs went to the property on June 6 th for some wheeling.

We will have a rodeo meeting after the regular meeting to discuss games.
July 10 th – Rodeo T-Shirt Deadline
Please place your orders for your rodeo t-shirts with Marie by July 10 th. The cost is $12.00 each. They will be khaki with red lettering and will have the old Sundowners logo and read “Still Playin’ Dirty”.
July 18 th – Property Clean Up
We will meet at 2:00 pm to mow, weed whack and get ready for the rodeo. Bring shovels, rakes, weed whackers, etc.
July 23 rd – Property Set Up
We will meet at the property at 6:00 pm to set up the canopy, tables and get everything caution taped off for the rodeo.
July 24 th – Annual Rodeo
The rodeo will be at the property again this year. Wayne is looking for some volunteers to help with games. If you would like to volunteer or have any questions, please contact Wayne Rynbrand.
We will meet at Denny’s on Sprinkle Road for breakfast at 7:00 am. We will meet at the property at 8:00 am to get set up and people will start arriving early. There will be a tech inspection upon arrival and drivers meeting at 10:00 am.
Rodeo t-shirts will be khaki with red lettering and will read “Still Playin’ Dirty”. Cost is $12.00 each. You must place your order with Marie by July 10 th. We will have some extras for sale at the event.
We have ordered a Port-A-John and Del has requested the loader for the mud run.
We only have a few donations this year. If you would like to get some donations, please contact Marie to make sure that you aren’t going to the same places that we have already visited.
August 13 th – 17 th Ultimate MI Adventure
Adam is planning a week long run with five parks, five days and 600 miles. Pack everything in your vehicle and go. If you have any questions, please contact Adam (269)207-0172. Adam needs to know by June 1 st if you are planning on attending this event. Some members are going to meet up with Adam just for the weekend and some are joining him for the day. John Ramos and Wayne Rynbrand are available as rescue vehicles if you break down on the run.
Sept 16 th – 19 th 2010 – Drummond Island Run
The Swamp Stompers are putting on a fall run to Drummond Island. This is an invitation only event, but it is open to the Sundowners. Cost will be $50.00 per rig/campsite. Cost includes camping, meal on Saturday night, community camp fire and they have rented the large gazebo on the lake in case of bad weather.
The new campground is located 2 miles from the 4-corner stop on Drummond Island.
There are 25-30 rigs estimated and there will be leaders for 3-4 different groups. You can pick what you want to run. ORV trails and/or Turtle Ridge ORV Park. Additional fees for park use. Wheeling on Friday and Saturday; it’s best if you come up on Thursday night.

October 15 th – 17 th Color Tour & Camping @ Adam & Tina’s
This event is now going to be a color tour, furniture burning party and pig roast. Adam & Abe are going to rent a Port-A-John and order a pig. Saturday will be the color tour in Yankee Springs. You may camp in Adam’s backyard. There is a pond and you are responsible for your own children.
October 30 th – Family Fire Safety Day
E.S.C.A.P.E. has asked that the Sundowners join them at Lowe’s on S. Westnedge for this event from 10-4 pm. Lowe’s will be donating smoke alarms and we can display our vehicles in the parking lot. Please let Marie know if you plan on attending.
October 2010-Kids Hope Run
This event will be in Hamilton, More information to follow.
December 4 th – Toys for Tots Event
